Privacy Policy

This policy describes what information the Buscora app ("Buscora", "we") collects when a merchant installs it on a Shopify store, how that information is used, and the choices merchants have.

Information we collect

• Product catalog data. With the store's permission (the read_products scope), Buscora reads product titles, descriptions, SKUs, vendors, tags, options, prices, and images to build the search index.
• Search queries. Buscora logs the text of storefront search queries, the number of results returned, and response time, so merchants can see search analytics and zero-result queries.
• Store and account basics. The store domain and the app session data Shopify provides at install.
• Merchant settings. Synonym groups and product boosts the merchant creates in the app.

Information we do not collect

• No customer accounts, names, email addresses, or order history. Buscora does not request access to protected customer data.
• No payment or billing card details — billing is handled entirely by Shopify.
• No advertising identifiers, and we do not sell or share data with advertisers or data brokers.

How we use information

Data is used solely to operate the service: building and serving the store's search index, showing the merchant search analytics, and providing support. We do not use store data to train models shared across customers.

Data retention and deletion

When a store uninstalls Buscora, its access token is invalidated by Shopify and we delete the store's indexed catalog, embeddings, settings, and search logs from our systems within 30 days. Merchants can request earlier deletion at any time using the contact below.

Sharing

We use infrastructure providers (hosting and databases) to run the service; they process data on our behalf under their own security commitments. We do not otherwise share store data with third parties unless required by law.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS). Access tokens are stored server-side and never exposed to storefront visitors. Search requests from storefronts are verified using Shopify's signed App Proxy mechanism.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update this page and note the new effective date above.
